Front-end Developer

Caitlin Davis

We know that a great user experience starts with a functional and attractive digital environment for users to explore, and as Yardstick’s front-end web developer, Caitlin develops functional and appealing web-based applications based on usability for our clients. She makes the digital magic happen.

Motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming, she bridges the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works. She welcomes the challenge of simultaneously working creatively and logically.

Always quick to think outside the box, Caitlin is adept at mastering the most challenging of tasks; she believes there is always more than one way to achieve the goal and the real skill is finding the simplest, cleanest way to get there. She approaches each project with attention to detail with her eye on the big picture. She’s armed with strong problem solving, communication, and listening skills that are essential for interpreting and executing designs effectively while communicating with the creative team and our clients.

Caitlin has a diverse education background including a BA from UBC and a Master of Environmental Design from the University of Calgary. The hard skills, her tooling and technical aptitude to perform in the role of front-end web developer, are learned through disciplined practice; she acknowledges that there’s always room to improve technique and work towards mastery.

Caitlin adapts quickly to new web design and application trends by keeping abreast of what others are doing in the industry. When she’s not busy trying new techniques and perfecting her craft, you’ll find her on an adventure or building her cabin.
